The children from ECD B advance to Grade 1 and then complete their Happy Hands journey in Grade 2. To distinguish Grade 1 and 2 from the younger pupils they wear a formal uniform.
The daily routine in Grade 1 and 2 starts with each student receiving at least five minutes individual time with their teacher. They practise their reading pages, phonics and vocabulary lists. A blended curriculum is followed throughout the morning and this incorporates Literacy, Maths, Science and Art and Craft. Our curriculum also encompasses a broad range of exploratory experiences including music, movement, and discovering the world around us. By encouraging independent thinking and problem solving skills we provide our pupils with a well-rounded education that prepares them for a successful transition into Primary School.
