Frequently asked questions
School Hours
Gates open 7am and collection no later than 1pm.Between 7am and 8am Grade 1 and 2 do their reading and an early morning task. Formal class lessons start at 8am and end at 12:15pm. Grade 000, ECD A and B start lessons at 8am and end at 12pm.
Uniforms
Grade 1 and 2 wear a formal Happy Hands uniform purchased at Enbee in Borrowdale. Grade 000 and both ECD classes do not have uniforms. Parents are asked to buy their child a Happy Hands T-shirt, from the school, at USD10 per shirt, at least once a year.
Meals
We do not provide meals. We ask that the children are provided with a healthy snack to be eaten at break-time (halfway through the morning) and with only water to drink. The sugar is both messy, can encourage a "sugar-high" and attracts bees.
Transport
The school does not provide transport but there is a facility available. Ray will give details.
Extra Mural Activities
The school does not provide for extra mural activities but we do have an external tennis coach who provides lessons twice a week on site and the same coach has the facility for swimming lessons, twice a week, off site.
Fund Raiser
We ask that each child contribute USD 10 per term for Bakers Day — this gives the children cakes to eat every Friday.
